Understand the path from scan to order

Published 8 October 2026 · Public product and editorial information

A trading workflow has several checkpoints. Reading them in order helps distinguish a quiet market from a data issue, an account mismatch, or an execution failure.

  1. Observe the market

Market updates supply prices and quotes. Strategy checks can also need completed candles, historical volumes and reference data. A connected price stream does not by itself mean that all required inputs are available.

  2. Evaluate a candidate

Delivery and intraday use different criteria. An intraday candidate can fail its opening-range, relative-volume, breakout or VWAP conditions. Delivery has its own checks and allocation controls. The candidate view should explain the specific failed rule.

  3. Confirm the account

Reconciliation compares known orders, positions and holdings with the broker. An unavailable check or unresolved difference can prevent an entry. Available funds, sellable quantities and product type must be established before an order is attempted.

  4. Apply execution controls

Entry mode, current authorization, configured capital limits and strategy risk checks govern whether the order proceeds. Automatic entry is an explicit console setting; it does not turn every passing chart into an unconditional purchase.

  5. Record and recover

A broker acknowledgement is not a fill. The journal tracks order status and confirmed quantities. Recovery handles pending and partial orders; exit logic must work from reconciled fills rather than assumed purchases.

Reading a rejection

Common states and the next useful check
StateMeaningCheck next
Data incompleteA required input is absent or invalid.Candle completion, timestamps and source status.
Strategy blockedA specific rule did not pass. The failed condition, rather than price direction alone.
Reconciliation mismatchThe app cannot establish a clean account view.Broker orders and positions, then recovery status.
Authorization requiredThe configured execution permission is missing or stale. The current entry mode and confirmation controls.
Order pendingThe broker has not confirmed a final outcome.Order status and filled quantity before retrying.

Use the console as the operational record
